New Charge for Charmaine Roy

spacer

Charmaine Roy, who has been charged with numerous counts of Fraud Under $5000 after fraudulently accepting money for a rental suite, now faces another charge.

This morning, January 21st, Roy was in BC Provincial Court for her first appearance date, when she was arrested again.  This time for Breach of Undertaking.  Roy's appearance was somewhat delayed to deal with this new charge, but she was expected back in the court room this afternoon.

When Roy was released from police custody at the end of December 2009, she was given conditions to abide by.  One of them was not to accept payment for any rental or lease property.  Roy breached this condition by accepting $1200 from a high school student moving to Victoria.  Roy confirmed receipt of this money to the young girl on January 11th.

The total number of victims who have fallen to Roy's rental scam is now 43.
