Jacob Boyce Delange, a 33 year old Saanich man, arrested by Saanich Police on January 26th, 2010, is facing yet more charges.
Delange is believed to be responsible for a multitude of property crimes that have been committed in the Quadra/Glanford areas of Saanich. The Saanich Police Street Crime Unit conducted a search warrant on a residence in the 4200 block of Quadra St back on January 26th and recovered a significant amount of stolen property. Officers are still in the process of identifying owners but have had success with many items.
As their investigation has progressed and more property owners have been identified, new charges have been laid. Delange currently stands charged with 17 counts:
- 11 charges of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
- 4 charges of Break and Enter and Committ
- 1 charge of Theft Under $5000
- 1 charge of Theft of Credit Card
Delange was released from custody on February 5th with a number of conditions including residing at a home in Duncan, and either attending school regularly or maintaining employment. Delange is scheduled to appear back in court in early March.
As more property owners are identified, police believe that more charges may be contemplated.
