An alert Saanich officer stopped a suspicious looking car early this morning.  Inside he found four occupants who were all later arrested.

The officer first spotted the 1989 red Honda Accord heading down Mayfair Drive, from the top of Mt Tolmie at around 1:40am.  He attempted to stop the car but lost sight of it as he turned his police car around.

A few minutes later the officer spotted the car again, this time heading south on Shelbourne Street.  He was able to pull the car over then without any problems.

Inside the car were four people, three men, ages 22, 20 and 19, and one woman aged 20.  All are from Duncan.  One of the men, the 20 year old, was found to be in breach of his curfew.  This prompted further investigation which led to a search of the car.  Inside, the officer found several weapons, including a pellet gun, bear spray and a machete.

All four occupants were arrested and now face charges of Possessing a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.  They were released later in the morning with a scheduled court date in March.
