Pat Bay Crash

spacer

Traffic on the Pat Bay Hwy this morning was backed up due to a crash in the northbound lanes just before the intersection at Haliburton.

Traffic was heavy at the time and the roads were slightly frosty.  A Green Ford Taurus failed to stop in time and rear ended a brown Nissan Altima.

The impact pushed the Altima ahead and into the rear of a red Ford F150.  With the Altima essentially now braced in the front by the F150, and the Taurus still moving forward from the back, the Altima ended up being pushed onto the hood of the Taurus where it finally came to rest.  The Altima’s rear tire sat on top of the windshield of the Taurus, resting against the steering wheel.

Fortunately no one was hurt in this crash, although visually it was powerful.

Crash

The driver of the Taurus was issued a Violation Ticket for Driving Without Due Care and Attention, a $368 fine.

The crash happened just after 8am and affected northbound traffic for about one hour.
