Two 17 year olds are in Saanich Police custody after a home invasion shortly before 10 a.m.. The suspects entered a home in the 1800 block of Feltham Road.

Police units responded to the area after a 9-1-1 caller reported that the two unknown masked youths had forced their way into the home, discharging some type of pepper spray or bear spray at the two young adults in the home. The occupants were also threatened with what is believed to be a replica handgun.

A short time later, plainclothes officers with the Street Crime Unit located and arrested two suspects in the 3900 block of Dawnview Crescent.

There were no injuries as a result of the break and enter and subsequent arrest.

The names of the arrested youths can not be released due to the privacy provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police will be recommending a number of criminal charges to Youth Crown Counsel.
