Drinking And Driving – Still News

This should not be News but it is, because drivers continue to make the choice of getting behind the wheel of a car and driving after having a few to drink.

This should not be News but it is, because Saanich Police attended to 300 calls of drunk drivers in 2009.

This should not be News but it is, because only two days ago, a Saanich Police Officer saved the life of a woman trapped in a car that crashed first into another car then into a power pole.  The driver of this car was believed to be drunk.

This should not be News but it is, because millions of dollars and hours of work are spent to continually remind drivers of the dangers of drinking and driving.

This should not be News but it is, because less than one month ago, Saanich officers pulled over a drunk driver who had strapped her 7 year old daughter into the backseat.

This should not be News but it is, because despite our best efforts, people are still driving while drunk, crashes are still happening and people are still dying.
