The Exhibit and Property Control office handles all property that is seized, recovered or turned into the Saanich Police. This office keeps meticulous records for investigative and court purposes and returns property to rightful owners when they are identified. About 10,000 pieces of property are dealt with annually by this section.

The Saanich Police holds onto found property for 90 days in the event that an owner can be located. All unclaimed found bikes are donated to the Compassionate World Resource.
REPORTING LOST FOUND OR STOLEN PROPERTY
Please do your best to provide the following information if it is applicable to your item:
1. Complete description;
2. The serial number (this is an extremely important identifier for police);
3. The make;
4. The time frame during which it was either lost, stolen or recovered; and
5. Where it was lost, stolen or recovered from.
PROPERTY THAT IS PART OF A POLICE INVESTIGATION
The investigating officer must approve pick up of any items that were part of a police investigation. For this reason you should contact the investigator prior to making a trip down to the Saanich Police.

When you believe a piece of property you own is being held in our Exhibit office please contact the Exhibit Control Officer at 250-475-4331.
Pick up hours are 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
You will need a piece of picture ID and the police file number.
The Saanich Police's auctioneer is the Asset Inventory Recovery warehouse. Items are sent to auction throughout the year. These can be viewed at www.bcauction.ca
