Saanich is the only Municipality in Greater Victoria with its own Animal Control Section. Two pound inspectors are employed full time. Their duties include investigating, reporting, and resolving violations and issues with respect to municipal bylaws and provincial/federal acts. They are also responsible for hundreds of found bicycles located each year throughout Saanich.
